We’ve already thanked God for YouTube once already in The 10 Worst YouTube Music Video Remakes, so no need to reiterate. Music video remakes on YouTube that are actually kind of good are kind of hard to find. Turns out, someone not making a complete douchemonkey out of themselves is waaaay more difficult to scour for. The laugh factor is reduced, and the wow factor is meh because, you know, it’s on YouTube. Making good, or halfway decent remakes and posting them on YouTube is mostly a thankless skill – like knowing how yodel, or speak Klingon. Regardless, there are enough of them to make a list of 1o of the greatest…

It’s hard to think about what life was like before Youtube, before this crawled into our living rooms, or this made Romanian dance-pop cool, and reminded people that there was a country called Romania. Youtube has this magical, persuasive power over people that makes them do stupid stuff on camera. They made a whole show about this phenomenon called Tosh.0. Music video remakes are not exempted from this power. Here’s a list of 10 remakes that will make you either laugh, cry, or maybe both at the same time.

Youtube blocked all premium music videos in the UK, after a failed deal with PRS for Music in March. Walker told the BCC that everything is “great” with the major labels. As for PRS, he said:
“We’re working very hard to come to an arrangement with PRS and we won’t strike a deal unless it makes economic sense. They’ve been a good partner in the negotiations and we’re trying to come up with something that makes sense for everyone involved. Ultimately no-one wins if the videos stay off the service, so we’re trying to come up with a win-win scenario.”
